Come bark in the park! On Saturday, September 21st, 2024, join us and our friends at Bryant Park’s annual dog parade and social. This event will bring together local dogs and dog lovers of all ages, in a festive gathering featuring a parade of pups around the park.

And—for one day only—leashed dogs will be invited to join their people on the lawn to sit, stay, and lounge! Special food and drink vendors will be available in Bryant Park to help you create the perfect NYC picnic experience.

Schedule for the day (updated September 16, 2024)

11:00am Registration/Check In opens at the AKC Museum of the Dog booth on the Upper Terrace

Bryant Park’s lawn opens to everyone including dogs!

Children’s Section opens with Author/Illustrator Erin McGill reading her books, Matchy Matchy and If You Need A Friend In Washington: Wacky, Wild, and Wonderful Presidential Pets

Food and beverage tents open on the Fountain Terrace with a delectable selection from Hester Street Fair

Special activity stations open on the Upper Terrace

11:30am Live Performance by Susan Said Band;

12:30pm Parade around the lawn! Dogs, people, hula hoopers, jugglers, and a marching band will circle the lawn twice in joyous celebration of all things dog.

1:00pm Live Performance by Susan Said Band;

Members Only Photo Sessions with NYC Pet Pawtographer Carmen Gonzalez (Available to the first 20 MOD Members that check in at the registration desk with time slots at first come, first served basis. Sessions on the Upper Terrace.)

1:15-2:00pm Cartooning Dog Emotions with artist Kristin Doney at the Bryant Park Art Cart.

1:30-2:30pm Dog Tricks Demonstration with School For the Dogs

2:00-3:00pm K-9 Presentation from the NYPD Transit Bureau K-9 Unit in the Reading Room

 

Special Activity Stations (11:00am-12:30pm) include:
Dog Superlatives: Get a personalized certificate from artist Kristin Doney highlighting one of your dog’s best attributes. Be it ‘most boop-able snout’ or ‘eyes most likely to earn extra treats’ you’ll take home a fun memento from the event.

Scentwork: Want to learn more about activating one of your dog’s strongest senses? Enjoy this exploration in nose work with our friends from Sniff N Seek. Find out about Barn Hunt and how to start this fun activity for your pup.

Poster Pup: Marching with a dog breed group? Want to do something extra special to cheer on your favorite furry friend? Head to the Bryant Park Art Cart to create a poster to carry in the parade or to hold up from the sidelines.

Bark for Books: New York Public Library (NYPL) will be on hand to help you sign up for a library card and recommend some captivating canine books.
