Meet and Greet with K9 Torque
4:00 pm
AKC Museum of the Dog
101 Park Ave
New York, New York 10178

Torque, a Belgian Malinois, is a pretty special dog. As one of only a handful of dogs in the U.S. trained to detect electronic storage devices such as cell phones and SD cards, she lends her unique skills to investigators working to apprehend child predators and traffickers. She also has a very special side job as an official crew member for EMU 309, a fully restored, Vietnam War-era Huey helicopter. Her calm and stoic presence provides solace to many veterans grappling with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) during exposure therapy flights in the Huey helicopter.

Cap off back to school week with a meet and greet with K9 Torque and her handler. Learn about this world-famous Huey Helicopter dog and hear stories about her training and work. Then check out the newly installed special exhibition of James Mellick’s sculpture, on view through January 5, 2025.

This event is FREE for Members and included with General Admission tickets. Please be sure to purchase your General Admission tickets for the date of the event.
