Furry Friday: Sci Fi Night
6:00 pm

Here’s your chance to visit the AKC MoD with your favorite furry friends! But, get your tickets early! These events typically sell out and we cannot guarantee there will be space the day of the event.

Roam the galleries with fellow dog owners and lovers during our pet friendly hours.
Free for Members at the Individual level and above; Non-Members $20 Humans, $5 Dogs.

All attendees will be required to sign a waiver before entry.

Special for May 3: Sci Fi Night

Dust off your Comic Con costumes and cosplay with your dog as your favorite sci fi franchise or fandom! Maybe you’re a force user, are good at avoiding sandworms, or prefer to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations; to boldly go where no man–or dog–has gone before! Participants will enjoy fun photo ops as well as an informational talk about the intersection of dogs across various fandoms in the sci and fantasy genres from NYC’s own Brian Levine.

Brian Levine has spent his career as a science educator and administrator in formal and museum settings, and has a long history of communicating science to the public through lectures, planetarium presentations, and in leisure settings. Born in Brooklyn, he grew up exposed attending many science and museum programs, went to the Bronx High School of Science, and majored in Astronomy at Stony Brook. He has presented numerous times at education and communication conferences, published a few times on the subject, is on the board of several education-related non-profits, and has been a host and producer for Astronomy on Tap NYC for over a decade. He is an avid Star Trek fan, and a regular attendee at NY Comic Con and other nerd-related events.
