Starting on June 13th, bring your pup with you to enjoy the art and wag into the weekend early! Every Friday is a dog-friendly day at the Museum during regular business hours, time slots must be reserved in advance.
Once a month, when the sun goes down, the dogs come out to play! Bark After Dark is our new after-hours series where art, dogs, and community come together for a lively, themed evening. Enjoy music, special activities, and playful surprises designed for both people and pups—all set against the backdrop of the Museum’s one-of-a-kind collection. Each month brings a fresh twist, so no two nights are the same. It’s where culture and canine companionship collide—for the coolest night in town.

Each month, we are highlighting one of the 200+ recognized breeds in the American Kennel Club. Meet and mingle with live dogs as breed experts share fascinating insights about their history, temperament, and unique traits. Program dates vary month to month, so check our calendar or subscribe to our email list for the most up-to-date information.
AKC FIT Dog Club is a program that will bring health benefits to both you and your dog! The AKC Museum of the Dog is the only FIT Dog club in NYC, and it’s FREE to join and participate in any of our seasonal walks. Come along with us for fun physical activity, interesting content discussions and become part of a lively community!
Scamper over to the AKC Museum of the Dog for special exhibition family days! Enjoy extra early access to the Museum and explore our current special exhibition in a kid-friendly atmosphere with engaging family activities. Sniff out all of the answers to our scavenger hunt, herd art supplies while making a crafty, dog-themed creation, and perk up your ears for our dog storytime. You won’t want to miss these bark-worthy events!
Fancy yourself a Paw-casso or Salvador Dog-Li? Join us at the AKC MOD for dog-themed art classes!
Once per month, we offer an engaging opportunity to learn special techniques from teaching artists, at which all art materials are supplied, and you will take home a bark-worthy creation all your own. Add new art to your personal gallery or design unique gifts for friends and family.
Calling dog lovers from all over the world! Can’t make it to the Museum to enjoy a tail-wagging good time? Museum Members are invited to join us for our seasonal virtual program series. From curatorial lectures to guided art instruction to broadcasts of our most exciting events, Members can attend these programs live and interact with presenters or watch recordings of the engaging offerings.
